Accessing Moodle from Populi
Logging in the First Time
The
first time
you log into Moodle from Populi, you will need to l
ink your Populi account with your existing Moodle account (if you have taken courses with the Josephinum before). Alternatively, if this is your first time taking a course with the Josephinum, logging into Moodle from Populi will create a new account for you in Moodle. Please follow the instructions below that match your status.
Returning Josephinum student who has taken a course in Moodle before

Log into Moodle using your existing username and password (
https://classes.pcj.edu/login/index.php).
If you haven't logged in since before December 4, 2023, your password is
Change.me!
, which you will be prompted to change upon logging in. If you do not remember your password, click the
Forgot password?
link to reset it.

In a different tab
using the same browser
, log in to Populi (
https://jdi.populiweb.com).

Go to the course page (see
Accessing Courses in Populi
for instructions).

Click the
Assignments
link in the left side menu.
The Assignments page displays.

Click on the course name link. A page similar to the following displays.

Click on the course name link. Moodle opens in a new tab, and the following pages displays.

Click
Link this account
(in blue). NOTE: DO NOT CLICK "CREATE ACCOUNT"
The following message displays.

Click
Continue
.
and you are taken directly to the course page.
Notes:

If the following page displays, it is because you did not log into Moodle before logging into the course from Populi. Simply log into Moodle in a different tab of the same browser, and repeat the steps above; you should no longer see this page.

From this point forward, you should log into Moodle directly from within Populi (see instructions below). Note, however, that if you are taking more than one course at a time, you do not need to return to Populi to navigate to the second course in Moodle. You can simply click My courses at the top, and select your second course.
New students to the Josephinum

Click on the course name link. The assignment page displays.

Click on the course name link. Moodle opens in a new browser, and the following page displays.

Create an account for me
. A new Moodle account is created for you, and the following page displays.

Click
Continue
to now access the course. The course page displays.
From this point forward, you should log into Moodle directly from within Populi
(see instructions below). Note, however, that if you are taking more than one course at a time, you do not need to return to Populi to navigate to the second course in Moodle. You can simply click My courses at the top, and select your second course.
Logging Into Moodle After Linking Your Account
While you can log into Moodle directly if you know your username and password, it is recommended that you log into Moodle directly from Populi. To do so:

Go to the course page in Populi.

Click
Assignments
.

Click on the one assignment name (which should be the same as the course name).

Click on the link that displays on that page. Moodle will log you in and take you directly to the course page.
