Linking Populi and Learning System Accounts (prior JDI students)
The First Time
you Access your Class
The
first time
you log into Moodle (the JDI Learning Management System that hosts your classes) from Populi, you will need to link your Populi account with your existing Moodle account (if you have taken courses with the Josephinum before).
Returning Josephinum student who has taken a course in Moodle before
-
Log log in to Populi (https://jdi.populiweb.com).
- Go to the Course Page for the course you want to access. (see
Accessing Courses in Populi
for instructions)
- Leave the Populi browser tab and Open a new tab
using the same browser.
- In the new tab, Log into Moodle using your existing username and password (https://classes.pcj.edu/login/index.php).
- To prepare for this process, your Moodle account has been modified and the password was set to
Change.me!
, which you will be prompted to change upon logging in. If you do not remember your password, click the
Forgot password?
link to reset it.
- Return to the Populi tab which is open to the Course Page.
-
Click the
Assignments
link in the left side menu.
The Assignments page displays.
-
Click on the course name link. A page similar to the following displays.
-
Click on the course name link. Moodle opens in a new tab, and the following pages displays.
-
Click
Link this account
(in blue). NOTE: DO NOT CLICK "CREATE ACCOUNT"
The following message displays.
-
Click
Continue
.
and you are taken directly to the course page.
Notes:
-
If the following page displays, it is because you did not log into Moodle (or got logged out) before attempting to connect from Populi. Simply log into Moodle in a different tab of the same browser, and repeat the step 8 above. (You should no longer see this page.)
-
From this point forward, you should log into Moodle directly from within Populi (see instructions below). Note, however, that if you are taking more than one course at a time, you do not need to return to Populi to navigate to the second course in Moodle. You can simply click My courses at the top, and select your second course.
While students that took courses at JDI before Populi was implemented (before Spring 2024) can log into directly into the learning platform (Moodle), it is recommended that you log into the learning platform from
Populi. To do so:
-
Go to the course page in Populi.
-
Click
Syllabus.
-
Click on the one assignment name (which should be the same as the course name).
-
Look to the right side of the page. Click on the 'Access Course in LMS' link that displays on that page. It will take you directly to the course page.
